The semi-finalists in the Innovation Catalyst 2022 competition

MSA University team qualifies for the semi-finalists in the Innovation Catalyst 2022 competition.

 

The “X-Bionics” team from October University of Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA University) succeeded in being qualified for the semi-final stage of the Innovation Catalyst 2022 competition, which was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The competition aims to support student projects and innovative ideas and help them implement them to reach the local and international markets. The team's idea was to create a prosthetic arm that aims to provide affordable and easily implementable solutions in the field of prosthetics. X-Bionics team's goal is to bridge the gap between price and ease of implementation and installation.

 

The team was able to pass the evaluation phase of the projects and was on a shortlist consisting of 40 teams. The qualifications took place for the second time after the projects were presented again. Proud to say, the team was able to reach and qualify for the first stage that was consisted of 20 teams.

  • Ahmed Mohammed Farouk, 4th level student at the Faculty of Engineering, Mechatronics Department.
  • Zyad Ahmed Hegazy, 4th level student at the Faculty of Engineering, Mechatronics Department.
  • Omar Ashraf, 4th level student at the Faculty of Engineering, Mechatronics Department.
  • Abdelrahman Safwat, 4th level student at the Faculty of Engineering, Mechatronics Department.

The qualified team enjoys great support by attending many trainings and workshops on their idea and developing it for marketing locally and internationally.

 

Finally, their project was under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Badawy, a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering (Mechatronics Department).
