Assistant Professor Zahra S. Hussein

 

Dr. Zahra S. Hussein got her bachelor's degree in Biotechnology / Biomolecular Chemistry from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt. She was then awarded a CIHEAM full scholarship for master studies at the Horticultural Genetics and Biotechnology department, MAICh-CIHEAM, France. Her MSc work focused on the production and characterization of tomato prolyl 4 hydroxylase mutant lines using reverse genetics approaches. Afterwards, She joined the Faculty of Biotechnology at October University of Modern Sciences and Arts (MSA), Egypt as an academic staff member in 2014 until present. In 2017, she got a full scholarship for a Ph.D. from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies at the Institute of Life Sciences, Pisa, Italy and then she completed her Ph.D. in the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Department of Biochemistry, Egypt-2022. Her Ph.D. research project focused on the potentiality of ornamental plants for the remediation of crude petroleum oil pollution. Currently, she is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Biotechnology, MSA University.
