Assistant professor Fayrouz S. Mohamed

 

Dr. Fayrouz S. Mohamed is a biophysicist who received her B.Sc. in Biophysics from Faculty of Science, Cairo University in 2009.

She then went on to earn her M.Sc. in Molecular Biophysics from Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt in 2013.

Her Master's thesis was titled "Determination of the Molecular Composition of Breast Tissue Using X-Ray Scattering".

In 2019, Dr. Mohamed earned her PhD in Molecular Biophysics, also from Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt.

Her doctoral research focused on the application of nanotechnology in cancer radiation therapy.

Dr. Mohamed has been awarded prestigious fellowships to conduct research at renowned institutions.

One of these fellowships was the International Atomic Energy Agency Research Fellowship, which she completed at ELETTRA Synchrotron in Trieste, Italy. Dr. Mohamed was also awarded a HORIZON 2020 Research Fellowship at the Structural Biology laboratory of ALBA Synchrotron in Barcelona, Spain. During her time there, she gained experience with protein purification and crystallization screening methods.
