Associate Professor Ashraf Bakkar

 

Dr Bakkar finished his Ph.D. at Paris University with Honors and special thanks from the jury. He then received the best Ph.D. award in the field of Cancer Biology.

Dr Bakkar finished his Ph.D. in the laboratory where FGFR3 mutations in bladder cancer were discovered which is considered one of the most important discoveries in the field during the last decade. Dr Bakkar spent another year and half as a postdoc in France and then he returned back to Egypt where he was appointed a lecturer of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Sinai University. Dr Bakkar spent another three years as a postdoctoral fellow at Calgary Medical School, Canada. His research at that time focused on prostate cancer. Dr. Bakkar was appointed as an Associate professor of Biochemistry and Cancer Biology at MSA University in 2017. Dr Bakkar is a holder of the PGCert ( 2018) and a fellow of the UK higher academy of education
