For the second time in a row, Biotechnology students were privileged to get an accommodation at the Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research Institute for training (AGERI), during their midterm break.
MSA's Architecture Engineering students stand out in the crowd as expected and represented the University in "Bridge to Future" Conference which was held in Ein Shams University. The open Architectural Competition was organized by Remal Foundation in Faculty of Engineering. Various workshops were held throughout the week. From among 150 groups that formed 1250 students' papers and projects, the outstanding performance of eight MSA's architectural students about "Sustainable Cities" made them to win the third place prize.
Out of deep sense of corporate social responsibility and MSA mission to engage our students actively in their community, Lebaladna Social Foundation adopted giving generously considerable amounts of convenience donations. Having this concept in heart and mind, the Foundation visited yesterday Saturday, February 9, 2013 Al Asfar Village in Fayoum Governorate to distribute 500 blankets wrapped with warm affection to the needy and less fortunate villagers during these nights of freezing cold weather, besides renovating 18 houses in the same village.
Proudly, MSA likes to extend its heartily congratulations to Communication and Electronics Department of Engineering's students; L.A Mostafa Gamal and L.A. Galal Mounir who used their cutting edge studies and knowledge to get their Master Degree from University of Greenwich.

A major part of MSA message of education is seeking perfection. If not, which is unlikely, and then it offers quality education on its highest levels. So, for that exact purpose a committee of selected Greenwich University professors supervises syllabuses, faculty performance, grads projects and inspects lecture halls and labs. That's part of the validation procedure that is carried out each and every semester in order to maintain and keep the national and regional appeal to join MSA.

A group of 18 exceptional senior pharmacy students, headed by Dr. Hisham Salem, the Vice Dean of Pharmacy, represented MSA University in the ‘Pharmaceutical Science & Green Chemistry in Turkey’. The conference targeted new methods of analysis for new drugs. Our students gave 9 presentations about their new analytical methods findings in various pharmaceutical fields.
In an unprecedented measure and in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Dentistry in Edinburgh, the Cultural British Council stated that Modern Sciences and Arts University (MSA), has all the up to- date means and methods academically, clinically and practically to train dentists and qualifies them to acquire the fellowship from the Royal Academy in Edinburgh.
Last Monday January 12, 2013, MSA organized one of the most successful events of Graduation projects presentations of Advertising and PR discipline. Panelists from J.W.T. Advertising agency, one of the strongest advertising agencies in Egypt were invited to judge the graduating students' projects of that major which were supervised by Dr.Sherine Moody.
In a unique Model of The United Nations (MUN), MSA students discussed global and regional issues like Guatemala, borders problems between Colombia and Venezuela besides the problem of Nile Dam between Ethiopia and the sourcing countries, plus the border problem between Turkey and Syria. Dr Nawal El Degwi, Head of the Board of Trustees, inaugurated (MUN) Agenda, in the presence of Mrs. Khawla Matter, managing director of UN Information Center in Cairo. Targeting the development and advancement of their abilities to defend their rights and acquire skills of diplomatic and parliamentary work 200 students participated in that Model on United Nations.
MSA held the Best Employment Fair On University Campus on November 24 & 25, 2012
MSA held its 5th International Employment and Training Fair on November 24 & 25, 2012 in the University Campus in October City. It is initiated from the pioneer role taken by MSA to make the high calibers jobs and training in outstanding and renowned companies available for its students. This year a lot of national and international companies were present in the fair to receive MSA distinguished graduates and students to turn their potential into performance and enable them to discover a career that offers diversity, inclusion, work life effectiveness with integrity and support for success.
In a constant effort to serve the community, MSA Faculty of Dentistry organized another Dental Convoy led by Dr Samah Kamel and Dr Mona Abdel Moteleb.
And went to (NES) for the second time this year to continue the treatment for all grades on November 26, 2012. The aim of this visit was to diagnose the teeth of the children (550 children) and to teach them how to brush their teeth.
The students of Interior Design (35 students) at the Faculty of Arts and Design paid a visit with their two instructors to Art Centres on Saturday 20th October 2012 at Sakkara Road:

Once more Faculty of Dentistry at MSA headed to October City to El Hosary School, on November 5, 2012. The Dental Convoy aim of this visit was to diagnose and supply proper treatment to 100 children' teeth and 50 staff members. The volunteered team also taught the kids how to brush their teeth and narrated some stories about fighting cavity formation. Dr Mona Abdel Moteleb delivered a lecture about healthy food like vegetables and fruits to fight cavities formation. The active team distributed boxes of fruits and vegetables to each and every child. The kids were also given plaster models of teeth with cavities where they filled it with clay. At the end MSA convoy gave the children colouring papers and stickers as a gift
On Wednesday, October 17, 2012 and for the third time in ten days, and under the supervision of Dr Ayman Kandil, Dr Samah Mohamed Kamel of MSA Faculty of Dentistry led a convoy to visit Kerdasa Village in Giza. The convoy managed to diagnose 150 patients and done extraction to fifty of them. The team filled cavities to 6 patients then done endodontics to three other patients.
Another Dental Convoy took its way to "A Z Nursery" in October City.The aim of this visit was to diagnose and supply proper treatment to 60 children' teeth. Faculty of Mass Communication at MSA, held its first annual Graduation Projects Festival which is witnessed by Dr Nawal El Degwi, Head of the Board of Trustees, Dr Khairy Abdel Hamid; MSA President, besides Dean of the Faculty of Mass Com. Dr Ebtessam El Gendy and Dr Kamal Abdel Aziz. A judging panel besides the faculty members who supervised these projects of Radio & TV Section, Journalism and Public Relations and Advertising also attended the Festival, in addition of public figures, Mass com experts and universities' professors. The Faculty of Mass Com will honour the graduation projects that are distinguished and add to its peripheral field.
Al Messaha Cultural Center in Dokki hosted a splendid Art Exhibition which was sponsored by MSA University, and was inaugurated by Dr. Nawal El Degwi, the head of the Board of Trustees. The exhibition included the choicest selection of artists where it displayed the work of 20 artists. Dr. Tarek Saleh, Dean of Arts & Design Faculty, attended the exhibition together with the famous artist, caricaturist and the previous head of Artsists Syndicate Mostafa Hussein.
Faculty of Arts and Design is planning to hold an exhibition for students' works twice a year; one in January and the other in July to give the students a chance to interact with all artistic trends through the famous artists out there in Egypt and represent Faculty of Arts and Design majors. .
Mirna Khater, assistant lecturer at MSA's faculty of Biotechnology, traveled to the United Kingdom to attend her MSc Graduation Ceremony at Rochester Cathedral, University of Greenwich, UK on the 26th July 2012.
MSA Faculty of Biotechnology planned to open the graduation projects which totaled 24 projects for discussion, on February 4, 2013. The best projected one was using the stem cells to treat the major chronic diseases. That project was presented by Shorouk El Tokhy. Another project dealt with the effect of toxics on the liver functions which was presented by Seham Gawdat.
The faculty of Dentistry is not only keen about students" academic performance, but the way they present their projects is equally important! For that reason, Dr. Professor Faten Kamel put together a competition for senior Dent students of semester 9 and 10, where they will compete for the best poster!
October University for Modern Sciences and Arts was proud to witness its Engineering students" innovations which were presented in the Workshop Building. The exhibition included all grades of Engineering Faculty where they participated with about 250 projects that prove their cutting edge awareness of the requirements of the ever changing job markets. As a matter of fact, Faculty of Engineering students combined their theoretical knowledge with the practical application and excelled in presenting their projects. In the exhibition the students displayed their hands on experience which is in harmony with their studies.
MSA University initiated an architectural project for 10 consecutive days in Port Said city with Thessaly University of Greece and Port Said University from the 21st to the 30th of September 2011. This collaboration was in efforts to create a productive educational link between Egypt and Greece and it targeted understanding the crucial issues faced by the city of Port Said, which is basically the dilemma of the contemporary urban design practice.
MSA University's Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture and Construction, were hosted by Greenwich University's School of Architecture this summer to work on their joint elective course “Sustainable Cities.”
It was a two-week course focusing on the city spirit and included visiting London, Manchester and Cambridge. Their studies and discussions were concentrated on the routes, places, the natural of the enclosing mass and about the infrastructure (food / water / waste / Energy / Transport of people and goods / places to live and work). Finally, the course concluded with an exhibition of the students' work, where they displayed sketches and photomontages of places they visited as well as visions of spaces with future sustainable cities.
