Faculty of Biotechnology graduation projects discussion

The Faculty of Biotechnology carries on with the graduation projects discussion day tradition, where a total of 201 students had the chance to present their graduation projects this spring.

 

It is rudimentary that students carry out two graduation projects individually for proper skill acquisition and autonomy. A total of 28 host institutes accommodated the students, to carry out their research projects with 3 new hosts joining the list this spring including Faculty of Nanotechnology in Sheikh Zayed , Biochemistry Department in Cairo University and Helwan University.

 

The research projects presented were multidisciplinary with basic and applied research projects spanning various fields such as therapeutics research, crop improvement, and synthesis of nanomaterials.

 

This year, a total of 75 examiners were present to evaluate the students who made notes that the student's performance noticeably improves every year. This year, in particular, there was no opening ceremony, owing to the Covid-19 circumstances and to guarantee the safety of all attendees. The discussions were carried out in a total of 14 rooms, where one minute of silence was given in remembrance of the late professor Dr. Osama Saad who passed away with Covid-19 last May, may his soul rest in peace.
