The course is concerned with study and exploration of the morphology, physiology and pathology of the human dental pulp and periapical tissues. It concentrates on the mechanical aspects of cavity preparation and gaining access to root canals, as well as cleaning, shaping and filling of root canals.

Anatomical considerations. Cavity preparation (gaining access). Endodontic instruments and basic instrumentation in endodontics. Length determination. Cleansing and shaping of root canals. Chemical aids in endodontics. Filling (obturation) of root canals.
